Advocates: David Campton (1924 - 2006)

David Campton was a British playwright and actor who wrote for the stage, radio and television. He was a founding member of the Library Theatre, Scarborough, and greatly encouraged in his writing by Alan Ayckbourn's most influential mentor, Stephen Joseph. He was the Library Theatre's first resident playwright (before Alan Ayckbourn) and managed the venue for several years. His many one act plays have been perenially popular with Amateur companies.
