Advocates: Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran

Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran are a BAFTA award-winning writing duo whose work as screenwriters includes hits such as Birds of A Feather and Goodnight Sweetheart. The pair made their playwriting debut at the Stephen Jospeh Theatre, Scarborough, in 2005 with 'Playing God'.

"No one knows more about the theatre than him. I’ll never forget him saying that we knew how to make people laugh and how to create characters. All he could teach us, he said, was how to get the blighters on and off the stage."
